In the same are is the Museum of the History of Medicine. It is located in the building of the first Bulgarian charity hospital. The exhibition illustrates the development of medicine in Antiquity, Middle Ages and National Revival, as well as the development of medical services in Bulgaria after the Liberation from Ottoman yolk in 1878. The best exponents from the collection are more than 4 000 old medical books, one of the best paleantropologist collections in the country, medical instruments from Thracian times, from Hellenic and Roman epochs, from the beginning of the Bulgarian state.
