In Search of Noah's Arc – one-day yachting cruise

Departure at 10:00 a.m. from Balchik Port. Groups heads to the north/north-west by sea.  12:00 reaching the area of Cape Kaliakra. The sea view is nothing but impressive – sheer rocks, seventy-meter high, reach down towards the sea. Professor Ballard, famous as the discoverer of the Titanic, has singled out the area as the likely final resting place of Noah's Arc. His expedition ambitiously undertook to find evidence proving the hypothesis that the great flood of which the Bible tells us first started along the Black Sea Coast. According to Ballard, life was interrupted by the mighty salty waters which flooded the lake of Durankulak Village and forced people inland. Thus, conclusion is drawn that the remains of Noah's Arc ought to be sought along the shores of the Black Sea. For centuries on end Bulgarian lands have been the cradle of civilization and this is yet another serious reason for Bulgaria to be mentioned as one of the miracles of the ancient world in tourist guides in the future.

In fair weather and, of course, if one is willing too, there is fishing at the foot of the cape, or one can simply enjoy the wild shore, the caves visible only from the sea and, if lucky, dolphins which often come here.

There is a possibility to stop off at Dalboka (Deep) Bay in a dingy. The Bay is home to the only mussel-breeding farm in Europe. There is a small beach and a simple restaurant where incredible mussel meals can be tasted. Departure is at 15:00 hours.  Arrival at Balchik at approximately 18:00 hours.

The one-day yachting cruise is available upon reservation made between 15th May – 15th October. The cruise varies between 4 to 8 hours. Maximum number of tourists 8. The price includes the insurance of the tourists and the crew. But does not include additional swimming gear, snorkels, fishing rods and BBQ, cooking, etc.
